Logan Crace Named VSU College of Business Administration Top Graduate

Logan M. Crace of West Point, New York, is the recipient of the Spring 2018 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University.

The President's Award for Academic Excellence is presented to the graduating student with the highest grade point average in each of VSU's five colleges - Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration, College of the Arts, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services.

VSU will celebrate its 225th commencement on Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5.

Crace will serve as the official banner carrier for the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration during the undergraduate commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, on the VSU Front Lawn. He will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in management, minor in entrepreneurship, and an Honors College Certificate.

"Leading the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration in the undergraduate ceremony is a phenomenal opportunity and a great privilege," he said. "I am appreciative to be selected for such an accolade."

As a student at VSU, Crace was a Zell Miller Scholar, a member of the Dean's List, and an Honors Scholar for four consecutive years. He served as a student researcher with "Building Communities Through Dialogue: An Oral History Project," a collaboration between the Honors College and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He was a member of the Honors Student Association and Enactus and was inducted as a junior into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society serving business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. He studied abroad in Germany, an experience that allowed him to also visit France, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

Crace's active involvement in on-campus organizations led to him serving the community as a volunteer at the Hudson Dockett Community Center. He helped support the Greater Valdosta United Way's annual fundraising campaign, promote literacy through the Honors College's annual Dr. Seuss Day, collect canned food for the less fortunate, and boost the Blazer Nation spirit through such events as the Honors Student Association's community carnival.

Crace's commitment to academic, research, and service excellence on campus, in the community, and around the world resulted in him earning the 2015 President's Choice Scholarship, the 2017 Hugh C. Bailey Family Scholarship, the 2017 First State Bank Study Abroad Scholarship, the 2017 Belk-Hudson Management Scholarship, and a scholarship from the Etowah Scholarship Foundation in 2014. In 2017, he was presented the Spirit of HSA Award.

Beginning this summer, Crace will continue his education at VSU, pursuing a Master of Business Administration. His long-term goal is to become a consultant at a global consulting firm like Bain and Company, McKinsey and Company, or Boston Consulting Group. He is the son of Scott and Ami Crace.
