Rebekah Harper Honored with President's Award for Academic Excellence at Valdosta State University

Rebekah Rae Harper of Ocilla, Georgia, is the Fall 2015 President's Award for Academic Excellence recipient for the James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services at Valdosta State University.

The President's Award for Academic Excellence is presented to the graduating student with the highest grade point average in each of VSU's five colleges.

Harper is scheduled to graduate magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in psychology at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, in the P.E. Complex. She will serve as the official banner carrier for the James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services during the commencement ceremony.

As a student at VSU, Harper was an active member of the Psychology Club and a regular on the Dean's List.

Harper plans to continue her education and pursue a Master of Science in industrial/organizational psychology, also at VSU. Her dream job is to become a human resource specialist. She is the daughter of Marie Harper and Michael Burnett.
