Savannah Ray Spends Summer Studying Abroad in the Czech Republic

Savannah Ray, of Tifton, Georgia, spent the summer of 2014 living and learning in the Czech Republic.

Valdosta State University's Center for International Programs offers a rich and diverse Study Abroad Program for students who wish to travel and study overseas. Ray was among 21 students who spent 28 days studying psychology at Palacky University in the Czech Republic; experiencing a new culture; traveling throughout Europe to Vienna, Auschwitz, Krakow, and Prague; and building relationships with peers from around the world.

Founded in 1573, Palacky University is one of the oldest and most highly respected universities in the Czech Republic. It is located in Olomouc, a city of more than 110,000 people, the administrative and historic capital of the picturesque Moravian region.
