Valdosta State University

An elite group of 40-plus graduate students were nominated by faculty in their various academic disciplines to present at VSU's 2021 Graduate Student Research and Scholarship Symposium, which was held on a virtual platform due to COVID-19. Six of those students earned top awards for their first-class research and scholarship.

Daniela Reyes Escalona of Moultrie, Georgia, is the recipient of the 2021 Annie Powe Hopper Award and Outstanding Student in Business Award at Valdosta State University.

Madison MacGregor Mascheri of Lake Mary, Florida, is the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Student in Nursing and Health Sciences Award at Valdosta State University.

Bryan Cordell Moats of Ocala, Florida, is the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Student in Humanities and Social Sciences Award at Valdosta State University.

Laura Vanessa Avila Rozo of Bogota, Colombia, is the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Student in the Arts Award at Valdosta State University.

Hannah Helene Swenson of Newnan, Georgia, is the recipient of the 2021 Student-Athlete Academic Award at Valdosta State University.

Logan Mason Kraus of Melbourne, Florida, is the recipient of the 2021 Clare Philips Martin Scholarship at Valdosta State University.

Stephanine Elizabeth Larkin of Livingston, Alabama, is the recipient of the 2021 Alpha Lambda Delta Maria Leonard Book Award at Valdosta State University.
