Valdosta State University is proud to announce the members of its graduating class of Fall 2024.

More than 2,000 students were named to Valdosta State University's Fall 2024 Dean's List. To qualify for Dean's List at VSU, students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Please note that developmental studies, transient, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Kyle Thomas Hawthorne of Cairo, Georgia, is the recipient of the Fall 2024 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of the Arts at Valdosta State University. He will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mass Media and a Certificate in Sports Broadcasting during VSU's 238th Commencement at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Alexus Maria Goodrum of Lakeland, Georgia, is the recipient of the Fall 2024 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Valdosta State University. She will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing during VSU's 238th Commencement at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Julia Rose Higdon of Orange Park, Florida, is the recipient of the Fall 2024 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of Science and Mathematics at Valdosta State University. She will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry during VSU's 238th Commencement at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Tristan Beckworth of Suwanee, Georgia, is the recipient of the Fall 2024 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University. He will graduate magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance during VSU's 238th Commencement at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Heather Marie Craft of Lake Park, Georgia, is the recipient of the Fall 2024 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services at Valdosta State University. She will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Workforce Education and Development during VSU's 238th Commencement at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Lindsey Strickland of Homerville, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 James L. and Dorothy H. Dewar College of Education and Human Services Highest Academic Achievement Award.

McKenzie Simpson of Quitman, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 College of the Arts Outstanding Student Award.

Grant Lopez of Sugar Hill, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 Division of Aerospace Studies Most Outstanding Professional Officer Corps Cadet Award.

Austin Peterson of Homerville, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 Annie Powe Hopper Award.

Teressa Akuoko of Lake Park, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 University System of Georgia Academic Recognition Day Award.

Kenna Fussell of Valdosta, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration Outstanding Student Award.

Isabelle Reimer of Mobile, Alabama, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 Bartram Award for Intellectual Exploration.

Leigh Ann Overlaur of Valdosta, Georgia, is the recipient of Valdosta State University's 2023-2024 College of Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Student Award.

A female duo from Valdosta State University's Debate Team took home the top prize at the University System of Georgia's inaugural Regents Cup Debate Series competition April 11.

Callie Reid of Lakeland, Georgia, is the recipient of the Spring 2024 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of Science and Mathematics at Valdosta State University.
