Valdosta State University is proud to offer scholarships to nearly 300 currently enrolled, incoming first-year, and transfer students for the 2020-2021 academic year. These scholarships were established by private donors and are awarded each year by VSU Foundation Inc. to students with excellent academic achievement and/or students with financial need. Each recipient represents the high standards of the university.

Each year the Student Advisory Council of the University System of Georgia (USG) anonymously votes to recognize one of its members with the prestigious Regent Willis J. Potts Student Advisory Council Leadership Award. This year's recipient is Valdosta State University's Jacob R. Bell of Bristol, Georgia.

Danielle Elizabeth Collum of Moultrie, Georgia, is the recipient of the Spring 2020 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Valdosta State University.

Leah Suzanne Akins of Nashville, Georgia, is the recipient of the Spring 2020 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Valdosta State University.

Thomas Lyrskov Jespersen of Herning, Denmark, is the recipient of the Spring 2020 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University.
