Valdosta State University has announced the names of students from Spring 2012 who have earned the academic status of Dean's List. Students who achieve a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher on nine (9) or more semester hours with an institutional (VSU) GPA of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental Studies, transients and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status. Area students include:

Several students recently returned from a three-week stay in the Czech Republic and Central Europe as part of Valdosta State University's Summer Study Abroad Program. The trip included lectures and seminar discussions on Czech and Central European history, politics, economics, culture, and social problems, with field trips to Krakow and Auschwitz (Poland), Prague, Vienna and Budapest, and other sites of historic and cultural interest. Valdosta State University's chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society recognized 165 new members during its annual recognition ceremony held Jan. 29 in the Student Union Ballroom. Golden Key International Honour Society is the world's premiere international honor society, admitting the top 15 percent of college sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students. The membership was founded in 1977 and now has chapters in more 390 colleges and universities.
