Matthew Lindsey of Woodbury, Georgia, received the 2015 Outstanding Workforce Education and Development (Secondary Career-Technical Education Option) Student Award from the Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University.

Blondeen Baggett of Fitzgerald, Georgia, received the 2015 Outstanding Workforce Education and Development (Workforce Training and Development Option) Student Award from the Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University.

Donna Hendley of Nashville, Georgia, received the 2015 Outstanding Human Capital Performance Student Award from the Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University.

Rebecca Rusk of Cumming, Georgia, received the 2015 Outstanding Office Administration and Technology Online Bachelor Completion Student Award and the 2015 Adult and Career Education Undergraduate Student Award from the Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University.

Alyssa Caspary of Lake Park, Georgia, received the 2015 Outstanding Office Administration and Technology Student Award from the Department of Adult and Career Education at Valdosta State University.

Two Valdosta State University students have been awarded Alumni Association Endowment Fund scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Forty-five students have been awarded music scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year at Valdosta State University.

Twenty-three Valdosta State University students have been awarded scholarships from Colquitt EMC for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Sara J. Reed, 25, was recently selected by the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy to receive $750 in fellowship funds through its Christus Powell Minority Fellowship Program. Only those higher education students who show promise in and a commitment to a career in marriage and family therapy education, research, or practice are considered for this award each year.

Erika Schumacher of Douglasville, Georgia, received the 2015 David and Cecelia Ratcliffe Scholarship from the Department of Biology at Valdosta State University.

Jesse Wayson of Valdosta, Georgia, received the 2015 Mack Varnedoe Greer Sr. M.D. Scholarship from the Department of Biology at Valdosta State University.

Ryan Baptiste of Decatur, Georgia, received the 2015 Outstanding Student Award and Scruggs Scholarship Award from the Engineering Studies Program at Valdosta State University.

Valdosta State University is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of the nearly 1,200 students who completed the requirements of their respective academic programs during the spring semester.

Valdosta State University has announced the names of those Spring 2015 students who earned Dean's List status. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Valdosta State University is proud to offer scholarships to 86 currently enrolled, incoming first-year, and transfer students for the 2015-2016 academic year. These scholarships were established by private donors and awarded each year by VSU Foundation Inc. to students with excellent academic achievement and/or students with financial need. Each recipient represents the high standards of the university.
