Valdosta State University

Valdosta State University has announced the names of those Summer 2015 students who earned Dean's List status. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Valdosta State University is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of the 522 students who completed the requirements of their respective academic programs during the summer semester.

Valdosta State University is proud to offer scholarships to 86 new and returning students for the 2015-2016 academic year. These scholarships were established by private donors and awarded each year by VSU Foundation Inc. to students with excellent academic achievement and/or students with financial need. Each recipient represents the high standards of the university.

Two Valdosta State University students have been awarded Valdosta State University Alumni Chapter of Atlanta scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Tara Brown, a 21-year-old Hiram native, will soon call Spain home, at least for a little while.

Cecelia Stevens of Winder, Georgia, received the Bill Walker Band Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.

Devin Driskell of Warner Robins, Georgia, received the Outstanding Student Service Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.

Joshua Duncan of Brunswick, Georgia, received the Outstanding Graduate Service Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.

Curtis Thornton of Valdosta, Georgia, received the Outstanding Graduate Musician Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.

Joshua Watford of Cordele, Georgia, received the Phi Beta Mu Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.

Karlee Norton of Valdosta, Georgia, received the Outstanding Student Teacher Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.

Daniel Gibson of Tifton, Georgia, received the Outstanding Student Award from the Department of Music during the 2015 College of the Arts Honors Ceremony at Valdosta State University.
