Valdosta State University is proud to announce its Spring 2016 Dean's List. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Valdosta State University is proud to offer scholarships to 303 currently enrolled, incoming first-year, and transfer students for the 2016-2017 academic year. These scholarships were established by private donors and are awarded each year by VSU Foundation Inc. to students with excellent academic achievement and/or students with financial need. Valdosta State University students from the Honors College were invited to present research at the 2016 Southern Regional Honors Council Conference, which was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Orlando, Florida, and hosted by the University of West Florida. Inspired by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the theme was "The Magic of Honors."

Hunter Pope's "Fetish Series" won third place in the juried art competition at the 44th annual Southern Regional Honors Council Conference. The award-winning photographs were captured on black and white film, in studio and on location, using a manual Pentax K1000 camera with a 50-millimeter (f/2.0) lens.
